  • Scott Snibbe is a pioneer of social interactive experiences that evoke powerful emotional and social engagement. He currently serves as the CEO of Snibbe Interactive, Inc., which sells and distributes social immersive media systems; and he is the founder of Sona Research, which engages in educational and cultural research. Over twenty million people have experienced Snibbe Interactive’s products in museums, retail, entertainment, trade shows, and world expositions. Snibbe Interactive’s exhibits are in many of the top museums of the world including London Science Museum, The Exploratorium, Cite de Science in Paris, Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, and many more museums in more than fifteen countries. Snibbe has also created some of the world’s most recognized interactive artwork, which can be found in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York) and the Museum of Modern Art (New York). He has received grants and awards from the National Science Foundation, Renew Media, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ford Foundation, Prix Ars Electronica, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

    Snibbe was born in 1969 in New York City. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Fine Art, and a Master’s in Computer Science from Brown University. Snibbe studied experimental animation at the Rhode Island School of Design and his films have won prizes internationally. He has taught media art and experimental film at Brown University, The San Francisco Art Institute, the California Institute of the Arts, The Rhode Island School of Design and UC Berkeley. Snibbe worked at Adobe Systems as a Computer Scientist where he made substantial innovations to the special effects software Adobe After Effects and at Adobe Research. Snibbe worked for several years at Interval Research where he performed basic research in haptics, computer vision, and interactive cinema. Snibbe has published numerous articles and academic papers, and is an inventor on over a dozen patents.
