What I do, where I work
I am currently the Programs Coordinator at the Art & Nature Center at the Peabody Essex Museum. I create and present family-oriented programming, help oversee the daily operations of the Center, develop new interactive exhibit components and activity boxes, and work with other members of the education department on festivals, school and family programming, and other special events.
My position directly previous was as Associate Education Director at The Discovery Museums in Acton, MA. I managed the exhibit interpreter staff for both the children’s and science buildings, planned and presented public programs, assisted in the design and construction and maintenance of exhibits and kitboxes, and supported the Ed. Director and the Director of Science Content and Community Partnerships.
Personally, I am especially focused on developing and offering creative interdisciplinary programming with an emphasis on hands-on inquiry learning. I have experience in both history and science museums and in the classroom at both the primary and secondary level. I write an interdisciplinary education blog called “Brain Popcorn.” (See link below)
