  • What I do, where I work

  • Liz Noelani Melicker is the Curator for the Heritage Program of the Presidio Trust. She leads the Trust’s exhibition program, where she manages exhibition projects from concept to completion, collaborating with community organizations to create shows that explore the Presidio’s heritage. These exhibitions examine how and why the past matters and inspire civic engagement by fostering an understanding of the ways in which the Presidio’s heritage is relevant today. In addition, Liz is responsible for managing and preserving the Trust’s collections, which comprise over a half million archaeological artifacts from the Presidio as well as objects on loan from institutions as diverse as science museums and presidential libraries. She holds an M.A. in Anthropology from Stanford University, and prior to joining the Trust worked in cultural resource management in California and Hawai’i.
