More about me
Previous to arriving at NCSU in 2005 I was an exhibition coordinator at the National Library of Medicine where I coordinated the interaction between in house specialists such as curators, registrars, and educators, along with external contractors such as designers and fabricators.
I received a Masters in Museum Studies from the George Washington University where I focused on content development from curatorial, design, and management prospectives. While an intern for the National Museum of American History I conducted research which lead to the acquisition of 48 feet of 1932 Route 66 pavement now on display at the museum as part of the exhibition America on the Move.
I currently serve as treasurer of the National Association for Museum Exhibition.
I am interested in ways for organizations with few resources and little exposure to typical museum practices to develop engaging exhibitions rather then simply displaying artifacts. I have consulted for the Stanly County Museum and have spoken with graduate students and library professionals about exhibition development.
